A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Ohio, and graduate of Carlisle High School, Rev. Michael Gray attended Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, Texas. Upon graduating in 1978, he joined the staff at The Baptist Tabernacle Church as the youth director, serving under his father and founding pastor, Rev. Earl Gray. Following Bro. Earl’s retirement in 1981, Bro. Mike was called to be the senior pastor.
Bro. Mike has served the Lord faithfully in Carlisle, leading the church as it has grown in number and effectiveness. In addition, he currently serves on the Mission Committee of World Baptist Fellowship Mission Agency. Bro. Mike has a passion for missions and cultivates an enthusiasm among his staff and church family for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and around the globe.
He enjoys walking, especially prayer-walking on the local bike path. He had the opportunity to hike on the Appalachian Trail in 2013 and in August of 2015 he and 3 friends climbed Mt. Katahdin in Maine. He hopes to reach McAfee’s Knob in Virginia in 2016.
Pastor Gray and his wife, Rhonda, have two adult children, and three beautiful granddaughters, Audrey, Lydia and Eliza.
